The smoker pit is a proven winner in BBQ contests. In just 2 cook-offs, (4) First Place awards, and a Grand Champion have been achieved. Both events used The Kansas City Barbeque Society rules and regulations, with at least one KC certified judge. The first contest this pit/trailer entered, a 1st Place in Brisket, and in Chicken were achieved, as well as Grand Champion over all categories. The second contest awarded 1st Place in Pulled Pork, and in BBQ Beans. Considering the owner was a novice, having NO previous experience with smoking meats (or BBQ cook-off contests), the Smoker Pit gets ALL the credit. Because the smoker pit has been so well seasoned, even a Novice, using USDA Select grade meat, can be a Grand Champion! Imagine what an experienced Master Smoker could do.....

Trailer is freshly painted in June 2013. New aluminum sheets were put on the exterior walls of the window side at that time. The seller installed waterproof, white wall board on the interior walls. The ceiling is painted wood paneling. Power is 30 amp, 110 electric. This unit can weight over 5000 lbs but tows easily with my 1/2 ton Chevy truck. Weight distribution hitch can be included if needed. No logos have been added yet which will make personalizing it by a buyer quite easy. The refrigerator is an older model but reliable, and easily reconfigured to store a variety of container sizes. Refrigerator is a commercial unit, with 2 front sliding glass doors, and adjustable shelves; approximately 6' wide and 4' tall. All other equipment is small appliances such as microwave, crock pots, cheese sauce warmer, and chaffing dishes. Additionally includes Cash Register, 2 - Electric Single Burners, Knives and Utensils, Meat Slicer.

Flooring is commercial grade linoleum which is easy to keep clean. There are shelves on all 4 walls, providing convenient, ample storage. More storage is under the main counter for bulk items. An "easy, self-closing" cold drawer has been added to streamline filling orders. The Smoker is well seasoned with good wood. The seller have used Apple Wood and Oak exclusively. This trailer was used for selling slow smoked meat (such as brisket, pulled pork, ribs, chicken, salmon, sausage, etc.), BBQ beans, coleslaw, potato salad and prepared foods such as chips. Meat was sold as sandwiches, on dinner plates, or by-the-pound. Dessert was fruit cobbler. No fried foods. All cooking was done on the smoker pit or in the crock pots. Drinks consisted of canned sodas, tea, and fresh squeezed lemonade.

What size are the water tanks ?

The grey tank is 45 gallons, mounted under the trailer, and the fresh water tank is 30 gallons, mounted under the sink/counter inside the kitchen. These were installed per Colorado's food concession permit regulations.

Is the permits still good on it ?

The health certificate is renewed annually, but is NOT transferable. I have not yet paid for the 2016 renewal pending the possible sale of the rig.

Is it still for sale? Why are you getting rid of it?

Yes. My reason for selling my business is only personal. Although I had a lot of fun, built a great reputation, made a good income, and enjoy running my BBQ business, it is not my real passion. I no longer want to work the events (which is where the biggest earnings are). It's just time for me to move on.

What kind of smoker does it have, a rotisserie

It is a wood and charcoal smoker pit, giving it the well seasoned interior which is key to flavoring the meats.. For some catering jobs I have used propane with an adapter to quickly heat the pit and large amounts of prepared food.
It does not have a rotisserie but is large enough to be modified for one.

Do the recipes that won the awards come with the purchase

I will include them, and teach the buyer how to set up the pit for the highest quality results.

Does it come with a griddle

No. I considered using one when I first opened in 2010 but then realized it wasn't necessary for my menu so I did not buy one. There is plenty of counter space for an electric griddle, or a cast iron one on the pit. Two electric countertop burners which I used to make the BBQ sauce are included.

Where in Colorado is this unit located?

Its near Durango.

is there room and or piping to install a stove with an oven?

There is room. The cabinet and counter nearest the door, on the window side, could easily be removed and an oven with stove installed. The sink side would work as well by simply cutting off a section of the countertop. I can verify the exact dimensions if needed. Piping does not exist but could be run down through the floor and out to a propane tank. An electric oven would require adding a 240 panel.
