The vehicle has been stationary for the past 5 years. I am not a tire expert, but Flat-spotting: The portion of each tire sitting on the ground can develop a permanent flat spot. After six years, it may be severe enough to cause vibration or handling problems.
Dry rot/ozone cracking: Rubber ages even when the truck isn't driven. Cracks can develop in the sidewalls, between tread blocks, and inside the tire.
Loss of structural integrity: The internal belts and casing can deteriorate with age. A tire can look reasonably good externally while having significant internal degradation.
Loss of pressure: Tires naturally lose air over time. Sitting underinflated for years can damage the casing and sidewalls.
Corrosion: Moisture can contribute to corrosion around the wheel/rim and, on some commercial tires, deterioration around the bead area.
Aged rubber becomes less flexible, reducing traction and increasing the risk of casing or tread failure during operation.
