Additional info:*
Has the engine had any major repairs or a rebuild, considering the mileage is at 220,000? -There have been no major repairs or a rebuild. But a well maintained diesel engine can run for over 500,000 miles, especially being a 5 cylinder Mercedes engine.
Do you have maintenance records (oil changes, brake work, etc.) available? -This truck was part of a fleet from California, but they kept the service records, which we currently do not have. Although it was a fleet truck, regular maintenance was necessary.
Are there any current mechanical issues or anything that might need attention soon? -No current mechanical issues. The truck runs and drives amazingly, hitting 75+ on the highway and uphill without issue. The only thing we didn’t have time to figure out and was never a problem for us is the AC and heat of the truck itself not working.
How is the electrical setup configured is there a generator, shore power, or inverter included for the interior lighting and portable AC? -The truck can either be powered by generator (not included), or by the included 3,000w Renogy inverter and two 6V TI05 deep cycle 215 AH batteries. The portable AC is included.
How well does the portable AC work in hotter weather? -The AC works very well to cool the truck in hot weather, it is a 12,000 BTU AC.
Is there any form of heating for colder months? -We use a small space heater and it works amazingly to heat the truck. The truck cools and heats well because all walls, floor, and roof are insulated. The floor and ceiling have plastic, then insulation, then the flooring/ceiling material.
What is the condition of the body and undercarriage any rust, leaks, or damage?
-The body has nearly no dents
Is the custom drop-down deck easy to set up, and is it still in great shape structurally? -We had the deck custom built just for the truck and the purpose of easily allowing people to enter as well as additional display space. It is designed to be set up by one person and takes about 5 minutes to complete. This was a $4k addition and worth every penny!
Do you have a clean title in hand, and has the truck passed any recent inspections or emissions checks? -We have a clean title in hand. No inspections or emission checks have been completed as they are not needed in Oregon.
Are the interior fixtures like shelving, the dressing room, and checkout stand permanently built in or removable? -The dressing room can easily be removed. The shelving is drilled into the wall and floor but could be removed fairly easily with little damage to the cover. The check stand was built in permanently, but if needed, could also be removed. It also has a cover for the stairs that makes the fitting room area all one level space with the same flooring. The sliding glass door was installed by a fabricator and is framed with 2x4s into the steel frame of the truck. it is very sturdy and lets an amazing amount of light into the truck.
Have you insured it in the past, and do you know of any zoning restrictions for using it in different cities?
-We have had it insured through its entire use as a business vehicle, with liability insurance up to 2 million and inventory insurance up to $30k. I want to say our annual payment is around $950, so quite reasonable. I don’t know of any zoning restrictions. We worked mostly through vending events and with businesses to pop up on their premises, which didn’t require any zoning.
