Why was this trailer painted this way, is it covering a surface condition like rust that would make it harder to strip and repaint?
It was purchased that way- but the underneath surface is aluminum and does not show any surface conditions like bubbles or rust through the paint, there should not be any issues with stripping/re painting.
Is the structure in good shape and towing shape?
Should be tow and travel ready - all the lights work. A tire was replaced just last month and all the other tires are in good shape. It has made long distance trips before and is in good shape.
Are there any soft spots/ leaks or necessary structural repairs?
No water leaks in the roof. There is a soft spot inside the trailer towards the rear wall, but an electrical box covers it so no one can tread. The rest of the floor is completely fine.
